A New Beginning…
Kwaku and Tanya James are a husband and wife
team who founded and now direct The
Genesis Foundation: A New Beginning.
On November 10, 2002 they were blessed with a
miracle baby girl, Genesis Jacqlyn James. As a result of a
premature birth, she was born with severe complications and
doctors did not anticipate that she would live past 48
hours. Today, Genesis is alive and each day is a new
learning experience for her parents as well as for the
medical community. She was diagnosed with a severe case of
brain injury known as Hypoxic - Ischemic Encephalopathy,
which is a precursor to Cerebral Palsy (CP).
Seeking
alternative treatments and therapies to assist in approving
her quality of life, the James’ discovered there was no
medical insurance to cover these expenses. Since then, they
have crossed paths with numerous families of children with
special needs requiring similar health care assistance.
The
James’ bring to the Genesis Foundation a total of 25 years
of corporate and ministry experience in addition to years of
specialized training in social services, environmental
health, and business.
