Light arise in the darkness for the lovers of
God. There is no one who hasn't gone through times of darkness...no
matter how spiritual they are. And there are times we can't see or
understand where God is taking us.
You may be walking through a valley---even the
valley of the shadow of death, but there will be no evil to fill you
with fear, because God is with You. Like a shepherd cares for his
sheep, the Good Shepherd cares for you.
You may have wondered if He really is concerned
with you as an individual. After all, there are millions of
others for Him to be watching---but remember, with all He does, His
eye is still on the sparrow, and His eye is on YOU.
He's not watching you so that the moment you
make a mistake, He can smack you up the side of the head and take away
everything you love. That's what some human fathers might do
(hopefully, not many). GOD IS WATCHING YOU TO PROTECT, COMFORT, AND
BLESS YOU.
If you are walking through a dark place--know this:
God is still there. He loves you, and as you follow Him, you will see
the light and step out of the tunnel. God specializes in bringing Light
to dark places. Remember, the first act we have recorded is God saying:
"Let there be light". And there was.
DARKNESS TO LIGHT
Darkness
thick and deep
slowly seeps into the soul
growing
taking hold
reaching outward
and around
takes on form
frightful sound.
Fearsome shapes appear
stirring dread behind closed eyes
Silky voices whisper
in the mind
telling lies.
Darkness
hides and disguises
what is true---what is right
loudly shouts
'You are trapped!
There's no hope...
no way out”
Darkness
filthy Liar
just one spark
catching fire
quenches darkness
pierces night
gives perspective
Truth and Sight.
And then a still small Voice
whispers gently
'There is choice'
and the Voice shows the way
out of darkness
into Light.
